Bona Fide Book Blurb

They’ve burned for each other for two years, the forbidden attraction between them growing each night. Now resisting the sinful desires of their hearts is becoming impossible.
Javier knows better than to succumb to his hunger for Lilah. The mortal female belongs to a powerful aristocrat patron of Vampirerotique, the theatre he runs with three other vampires. A single touch is all it would take to break the sacred law of his kind, sentencing himself to death, but his passion for her has become too fierce to ignore and he will risk everything to make Lilah his.
Lilah has fought her desire for Javier since arriving at his theatre as a servant but each glance he has stolen, his eyes promising pleasure that will satisfy her longing for him, has chipped away at her defences and she can no longer deny her need and her forbidden feelings for the powerful vampire male.
When they find themselves alone in a private box during one of the erotic performances, will they surrender to their passion and live out their wildest fantasies in a night of wicked pleasure or will the threat of Lilah’s master keep them apart forever?

Bona Fide Review
Excellent

Javier and Lilah have been ferociously attracted to each other for two years.  But, because she is the property of a powerful vampire, their laws and customs to do not allow for their joining. Because of this, Javier has kept his distance from Lilah and has just pined for her from a distance. As, fate would have it, the two succumb to the draw they feel towards one another. After that, their connection deepens.
Covet by Felicity Heaton is a great novella! Ms. Heaton was able to connect Javier and Lilah in such a way that the romance and eroticism were a perfect combination to make the story believable, even in a short amount of page space. Kudos!

Bound by Blood (The Garner Witch #1) by P.A. Lupton

Fantastic Debut Novel

Bound by Blood, (The Garner Witch, #1) by P.A. Lupton is a smooth, enjoyable, humorous paranormal romance complete with memorable characters and a captivating plot.  Brianna Reece is an FBI agent and a witch with strong empathetic psychic abilities which allows her to very adept at interrogation. She and her partner,Todd Morrison, become embroiled in an investigation which centers around a series of murders where the victims are all women who resemble her and are killed by exsanguination with no outward trauma. As her investigation moves along, she meets the sexy and illustrious Nathan Donovan who owns a security company which seems to have ties to many of the murder victims. The story’s plot takes the reader down a path of intense anticipation and excitement in the paranormal romantic suspense and personal revelation on the part of Brianna.

The author’s voice is polished and flows very nicely. She adeptly uses the first person point of view from Brianna’s perspective which is fresh, fun and often capricious. Brianna is an enjoyable heroine to read about because she is funny, spunky, honest, loyal, and persistent in her need to do the right thing. Nathan is her perfect complement as a hero because he is a sexy vampire who shows an unwavering commitment towards Brianna and devotion for those under his protection. Plus, his personality remains consistent and reliable. These elements add to the enjoyment of the story because there is no frustrating clash of personalities that make a reader want to hurl the book against the nearest wall.

Another positive point to Bound by Blood is the steadfast buildup to the relationship between Nathan and Brianna.  Despite their strong attraction to each other, they take their relationship slowly. The author successfully adds to the anticipation of establishing the relationship by weaving a romance that is charmingly sweet and touching while portraying intense feeling. She successfully causes the reader’s heart to melt. There is one part in the story where the author describes a build up to a kiss that will make the reader catch his/her breath.

P.A. Lupton is a very adept writer whose debut novel is a welcome addition to the paranormal romance genre. She has created a novel that is both character and plot driven with a smooth cadence to the storytelling.  Readers will not be disappointed in Bound by Blood and should be proud to add the book to their bookshelves.

Destiny Divided (Shadows of Destiny, #1) by Leia Shaw

Destiny Divided (Shadows of Destiny, #1)
Excellent Reading

Destiny Divided by Leia Shaw is a gem of a paranormal romance. I absolutely loved the mythos of Ms. Shaw's paranormal world of witches, vampires, and shape-shifters which is original and intriguing.

Sage Peterson has been living in the basement of the university where Professor James Elias teaches. She has lived a hard lonely life where she has to cover up all of strange unexplainable events that occur around her when she gets overly emotional. The frustrating, sexy, authoritative James offers to help Sage who is a powerful half witch/half sorceress by training her in magic while he is secretly planning to use Sage against his enemies. However, as they spend more time together, their feelings deepen into a bond that is irrefutable, even to Professor Elias who has a few secrets he is trying to keep to himself.

Ms. Shaw is able to create a solid connection between the reader and the hero and heroine of this story because she has created two domineering eccentric characters that effectively complement each other. The snarky conversations and one liners between these Sage and James is very amusing and helps to lessen the intensity of the events occurring around them. The sexual tension and relationship that develops between the two main characters is extremely meaningful. In addition, the plot and the originality of novel compounds the reader’s appreciation of the novel. The combination of all these elements creates a paranormal romance that is hard to put down.

Destiny United by Leia Shaw is another great book and is the second installment of the Shadows of Destiny series. Ms. Shaw is definitely off to a strong start with this series. The paranormal romance genre can get quite pedestrian when is comes to different ways to tell similar stories. However, Destiny Divided (Book 1 in the Shadows of Destiny Series) and Destiny United are refreshing in their originality. The author is able to construct a world of witches, vampires, and shape-shifters that is original and intriguing.

In Destiny United, Erin Bolton, who is Sage’s (heroine from the first book) foster sister, is uncomfortably shy and phobic of strangers and strange places - so much so, she suffers from debilitating panic attacks. The only thing that helps her cope is alcohol. Marcelo has been given a job by Sage, Queen of the Underworld, to escort Erin to the Underworld to be protected from powers that be who would harm her. To fulfill the request of the Queen, Marcelo must discontinue his 800 year search for his wife and contend with a person whose phobia is disruptive in his plans to get Erin to the Underworld .

This book is unbelievably touching and frustrating. A combination that adds to the appeal of this story because of the personal growth the heroine, Erin, experiences and lends to the legitimacy of the situation. The key role Marcelo plays in Erin’s metamorphosis plunges the two into an emotional relationship that will have you cheering, crying, and sighing. The author creates a solid connection between her audience and the main characters in this story. The relationship and plot coalesce into a story from which you cannot walk away. Ms. Shaw’s aptitude in creating an original paranormal world is outstanding and one you don’t want to miss.
